Bring your hands — we’ll teach you the rest. \nMaking friends as an adult is hard\, and here’s why: it almost never happens over coffee (because some of us have day jobs)\, where you sit across from someone and take turns being interesting. It happens sideways — when your hands are busy and there’s something on the table between you. \nThat’s a mahjong table. It’s held women together for a hundred years for exactly this reason. \nLong Beach Moms and Mahj Club are taking over The Small Market in Naples for four Sunday afternoons. Five tables of four. Twenty women. Two hours where nobody needs anything from you. \nYou don’t have to be a mother to sit at this table.  \nYou don’t have to know how to play.  \nYou don’t have to bring anyone with you. \nIntro to Mahj — $60 · Two tables\, eight seats. American mahjong from absolute zero\, taught by Mahj Club. The tiles\, the card\, the Charleston\, and what a Joker actually does. You’ll play real hands by the end. Come alone — most do.
