DESCRIPTION:The third annual Cal Heights Neighborhood Tree Lighting ceremony will take place Thursday\, December 4 from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the corner of Orange Ave. and Bixby Rd. in Long Beach at f/8 Studios and California Heights Market and features 10 tons of snow\, the chance to meet a real reindeer\, and photos with Santa Claus!\nThis is a free community event sponsored by Long Beach District 5 Councilwoman Megan Kerr’s office\, California State Senator Lena Gonzalez\, Trina Rufo Homes\, CSI Private Security\, and the Bixby Knolls Community Foundation. Additional event sponsors include Coffee Drunk\, The Aquarium of the Pacific\, and the Obitchuary Podcast.\nAt 4:30pm\, Councilwoman Kerr\, Senator Gonzalez\, and other community leaders will be on hand to make remarks before a spectacular 15′ tree is lit followed by a visit from Santa Claus. A kids holiday choir from Cal Heights Music and local grammy-nominated jazz musician Billy Mohler will provide live music before and after the lighting.\nFollowing the tree lighting ceremony\, guests will enjoy the following yummy treats and holiday activities sponsored by local businesses\, which will take place behind California Heights Market and f/8 Studios:\n– Tacos and Agua Frescas from Lola’s Mexican Food\n– Chili and Chowder Trolley from The Merchant\n– Lumpia from Long Beach Lumpia\n– Fresh pressed juice from Salud\n– Mocktails from Beachwood Brewing & Distilling\n– Snow play area sponsored by CSI Private Security and Athans Ice House (10 tons of snow!)\n– Photos with a real reindeer sponsored by Trina Rufo Realty\n– Story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus from f/8 Studios\n– Photo opportunities with characters from the Long Beach Ballet Nutcracker\n– Holiday pop-up shop with f/8 Studios\n– A charm bar with Draped by Lala\n– Custom ornaments and a candy cart from Fete & Bestow\n– Holiday music and merchandise with Cal Heights Music\n– California Heights Neighborhood informational and merch booth\n– Toy drive – please bring an unwrapped toy to donate!\n– And more!\nAdditional event sponsors include:\n– Tempoe Entertainment DJs\, who will provide music and special FX services.\n– Stephanie’s Linens\, who will provide event rentals\, lighting\, and heaters.\n– California Heights Market for use of their parking lot\nParking is limited\, and walking to the event is strongly encouraged.
