Kid Works Children's Center
Kid Works Children’s Center is situated in the heart of Belmont Heights, Long Beach. We are a play-based and developmental program serving young children and their families. We are proud to be a woman-owned small business.
We offer two programs PRESCHOOL + SPANISH IMMERSION AFTER-SCHOOL CHILDCARE:
PRESCHOOL
We can enroll children who are about 3 – 5 years old and who are potty trained.
We believe that young children learn best through discovery and play, and our environment is carefully set up to pique curiosity and provoke thinking and doing. Our teachers are co-pilots with the children, helping them to research their topics of interest.
We are a child-centered program, meaning we understand well the ages and stages of early development and can provide developmentally-appropriate challenges and learning opportunities.
We love nature and our outdoor classroom is one-of-a kind! Nature provides all we need to feel connected to our world and to ourselves. Our children learn how to grow foods, observe life cycles of flora and fauna, and show care for all living things. This is also a place where they can be as active as they need or find a cozy corner for quiet reflection.
On a typical day you will find our children building, drawing, painting, looking for bugs, playing construction, cooking up a meal in the mud kitchen, challenging their bodies on the rope swing and monkey bars, feeding our animals, reading, singing, dancing, making up games and telling stories.
Monthly tuition includes two snacks a day and a weekly yoga & mindfulness enrichment class.
Whether indoors or outdoors, Kid Works is a ‘YES’ environment for kids. Kid Works is a preschool for all children to experience!
SPANISH IMMERSION AFTER-SCHOOL CHILDCARE
Hola y bienvenidos! Our after-school program is tailored for children who are between 4 – 6 years old.
Our teacher is a native Spanish speaker who is also trained in child development. Children learn a new language and culture in a low-pressure and fun way, through songs, discussions, storytimes, games, and art projects.
Snack is provided and there will also be outdoor playtime. Transportation is provided for Fremont Elementary students to Kid Works. All others must be dropped off to Kid Works.
