Musical Theatre West is hosting a free performance of Saving Paka’s Dog Park as part of its Community Connects series. Inspired by MTW’s touring educational production for schools, this community day brings the show’s themes to life with live performances, dog adoptions, local vendors, and interactive fun for all ages.

At the heart of the event is a live performance of Saving Paka’s Dog Park, MTW’s original touring musical created for its Educational Outreach program. This joyful 30-minute show – performed at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM – celebrates community, kindness, and the special bond between people and their pets. Designed with young audiences in mind, it’s an engaging introduction to live theatre for children and families.

Adding to the excitement, MTW has partnered with local shelters and animal organizations including Beachfront Mutts Rescue, Go Fetch, Zoom Room, Cuddly, Basset Hound Rescue, and Just Food for Dogs to offer dog adoptions on site. Attendees can meet adoptable pups, connect with pet-friendly businesses, and enjoy giveaways, treats, and community resources. Food will be available for purchase from Mr. Roto Taco Truck.
