The Long Beach Beach Scene
Summer is here at last!
Looking for some great beaches to explore this summer? Look no further than the beaches in our back yard. Find out more information about the beaches in our area and the activities that are available as you explore your way through the Long Beach beach scene.
While we have SO MANY great beaches to choose from that are close by us, we are choosing to focus on a select few that are located right here in our community.
Mother’s BeachÂ
This is a classic family beach location! Located in the Marina, the water is calm, which is perfect for both new and little swimmers. The swimming location is roped off and provides enough space for lots of swimmers to enjoy the water. Mother’s Beach is surrounded by a small park with trees, prefect for spending some time out of the sun.
This beach is heavily visited by families, which is why the access to public restrooms and fantastic kid-friendly playground makes this one of the best beaches in Long Beach!
Bayshore Beach (AKA: Horny Corner)Â
Okay, so you might be thinking that this isn’t an appropriate beach to bring your kids to but don’t be fooled by the name! Bayshore Beach is a great location for beach time fun.
Located right next to great shopping and restaurants on 2nd street, Bayshore Beach gives you opportunity to swim and play all in one location. This beach is located inside the Bay (so no worries about waves or heavy ocean breeze) with roped in swimming  to keep swimmers and boaters safe. Bayshore Beach also provides opportunities to rent kayaks and paddle boards as well as take a Gondola ride through the Naples Island Canals or grab a snack at the concession stand.
Need a little on-land activity? The street adjacent to Bayshore Beach closes down to all traffic during the day and turns into a fun street promenade. Perfect to skating, boarding, or biking in a safe space.
Rosie’s Dog BeachÂ
Calling all dog lovers! Rosie’s Beach is the best location for you and your pup to enjoy this summer. Located right on the Ocean, Â Rosie’s Dog Beach allows for your puppy to be off the leash and run through the sand and surf. The special, leash-free Dog Zone is in effect from 6AM-8PM, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the beach with your fur baby.

Junipero Beach
Junipero Beach is located right on the Ocean so you will get the classic ocean beach experience. What makes this beach unique though are the sunsets! Because this beach is not surrounded by buildings or taller structures, the your view of the ocean horizon is unobstructed, making this beach a perfect location for a romantic sunset experience.
Alamitos Beach
For those of us who live in the city of Long Beach, look no further than Alamitos Beach. Alamitos Beach is large compared to some of the other beaches in our area. There is plenty of room to spread out on the soft sand or take a bike ride on the paved beach path. Check out the Pride Life Guide Tower or check out Riviera Point for an eye-catching sunset.
With a concession stand that features food, drinks, and beach rentals like beach cruisers, tandem bikes, and 3-to-6-person surrey bikes, roller blades, fishing rods, umbrellas, volleyballs, and beach chairs, and skim boards, there is never a dull moment to be had at Alamitos Beach.
Belmont Shore Beach
This is the perfect destination for anyone looking for a relaxing beach experience. Enjoy watching the kite surfers glide over the ocean or enjoy watching some beach tennis played by the locals. If historical sight-seeing is more of your thing, take a walk or bring your fishing rod over to the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier. Whatever option you chose, you are going to enjoy this beach.
